Samuel Morse

Samuel Finley Breese Morse (April 27, 1791 – April 2, 1872) was an American inventor. He contributed to the invention of a single-wire telegraph system based on European telegraphs, was a co-inventor of the Morse code, and also an accomplished painter.
Morse additionally supported the institution of slavery as well as anti-Catholic and anti-immigration efforts within the United States

“I drew one load of wood home and one to Archie Stuart today.  Tried the Rogers Mare this afternoon.  Has been very cold and stormy this afternoon. Mercury stood at zero this morning.”
