A Jag of Wood

Typically a "Good jag of wood" is a full load, as much as a trailer or log sled could handle. Picture 1800's era log sleds.  Today a jag of wood would be considered about 3 cords of wood..

“I went up town with the milk this morning and spread manure rest of the forenoon.  After dinner Mr. Rogers came down and we hitched up “Billy” on the lumber wagon and got a Jag of wood ???? in the woods.  Then we hitched up Benny and drove him over to Charley Rogers’.  Got home about six.  The stowel heifer calved just at night.  Has been a beautiful warm day.”
