“Rained all the forenoon.  I went over and helped Will load a load of hay.  This afternoon it cleared off and I cut a little wood.  I took the pigs from the old sow this afternoon."

To the beach!

“Went to mill with my grist this morning. Got ready for butchering this afternoon.  Expect to butcher in the morning.  Pleasant day.  About 4 o’clock I weighed the pigs alive to see how much they will shrink in dressing.
